Accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental peer review process by the higher education community that aims to assure academic quality and accountability and to encourage improvement.

The Tift College of Education offers a variety of professional educator preparation programs that are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) for initial and advanced certification. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission is responsible for the preparation, certification, and professional conduct of certified personnel employed in the Georgia public schools.
