Shape the future of P–12 education with an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership
Mercer University’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership – Tier I will prepare you for entry-level leadership positions up to the assistant principal within school leadership or a variety of district-level leadership positions that do not supervise principals.
The 30-hour educational leadership master’s program includes 250 clock hours of clinical practice. Gain experience synthesizing and applying knowledge, and practice and develop skills through meaningful field experiences that prepare you for educational leadership after graduation.
After graduating with your M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and passing the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Content Assessment in Educational Leadership and the Educational Leadership GACE Georgia Ethics Assessment, you will be eligible to apply for Level 5 certification in Educational Leadership.
Aspiring educational leaders who hold a master’s degree or higher and Level 5 certification in a field other than educational leadership may pursue the Tier I program as a non-degree, certification-only option. Learn more.

Your hands-on learning experiences in this master’s level educational leadership graduate program will be unique to you and your specific career goals. You will work collaboratively with a mentor and faculty advisor to design a clinical practice program that aligns with your goals and priorities.
