The cohort model truly made my experience what it was. We were able to have deep, meaningful conversations and discussions in class about educational leadership that meant more to me than anything I read in a textbook or covered on a test.

Darius Freeman

I attribute my well-roundedness to Mercer. I was taught the art of teaching and instruction, but more importantly how to teach with my heart. I learned how to use case studies to research others’ successes or lack of success. I learned how to engage my community, and how to instruct to the “whole child,” but also how to lead by following.

Shenée Johnson Holloway
M.A.T. Secondary Education, '09 | M.Ed. Educational Leadership, '19

I knew I wanted to earn my Master of Education in Educational Leadership so that I was prepared for a leadership position in my district. I chose Mercer after an information session where faculty explained the support system Mercer offers, the real-world applications of the program, and how accessible professors are to students.

Mercer has given me the foundation to enhance my leadership skills, challenged me to be a risk taker, and encouraged me to build and sustain relationships. Through field experiences and being taught by former transformative leaders in education, I feel equipped to be successful in my career.
