Educational Leadership (P-12 Tier II) Non-Degree Certification
Pursue your tier II certification
Mercer University’s Tier II Educational Leadership certification program prepares transformational leaders outside of the classroom. Mercer offers a non-degree, certification-only option to prepare students for Tier II Educational Leadership Certification (Level 6) eligibility in Georgia. Students learn to further leadership skills and attain professional growth in the field of education.
To be eligible for the non-degree, Tier II initial certification program, applicants must hold a valid Level 6 educator certificate and Level 5 Leadership certification. The number of courses needed for the certification-only option are dependent upon a transcript review, which can be completed prior to the application process.
Designed for busy and working adults
Mercer’s Tier II Educational Leadership program is offered in a blended format at Mercer’s Atlanta, Henry County, and Macon locations. Classes meet during eight-week terms, and each course meets once per week online and once per month on campus on Saturdays. With this model, 50% of the course is conducted through a synchronous, online format, 25% through an in-person format, and 25% through an asynchronous, online format. Candidates will also devote time to clinical practice hours at their own school. Students are enrolled three times per year in January, May, and August.
This program requires a minimum enrollment for each location and start date to begin a cohort.
