Inspire health and movement as a health and physical education major
Mercer University’s B.S.Ed. in Health and Physical Education prepares residential undergraduate students on the Macon campus to promote lifelong health and physical activity among students in grades P–12. This degree in physical education equips aspiring teachers with the expertise and practical experience to positively influence students’ physical well-being. Through a blend of hands-on learning and theoretical knowledge, students learn the science of movement and how to teach motor skills, foster healthy habits, and promote active lifestyles. With a curriculum recognized by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, the program ensures graduates are fully prepared for success in the classroom and beyond.
Successful completion of the program and passing scores on the appropriate GaPSC-approved Content Pedagogy Assessment and GACE Content Assessments lead to eligibility for initial health and physical education teacher certification.
