Karen Yarbrough graduated from Mercer University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Middle Grades Education. She also attended Georgia College & State University, where she obtained an specialist degree in Early Childhood Education. Karen received her Educational Leadership certification at the University of Georgia.
Karen retired from Bibb County Public Schools in 2010. With Bibb County Schools, she served as a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and mentored principals for many years. She currently serves as the School Improvement Director with the Middle Georgia Regional Education Service Agency, working with other school improvement specialists to help schools improve. Karen is the proud mother of three children and five grandchildren, soon to be seven.
