Ernie Lee
Ernie Lee is a behavioral sciences teacher at the Savannah Arts Academy in Savannah, Georgia, and was the 2016 Georgia Teacher of the Year. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mercer University and a Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama.
After practicing law for 20 years, Ernie chose to become a teacher to make a positive and lasting impact on the community of Savannah. Ernie holds teaching certifications in special education, behavior sciences, business, and history, and has a gifted teaching endorsement. In 2016, he was selected by the Georgia Historical Society as the Grand Marshall of the Georgia Day Parade, where he led 3,500 students in celebrating Georgia’s 283rd birthday.
