Dr. April Aldridge works as the Instructional Specialist in the Office of Rural Education and Innovation at the Georgia Department of Education. Prior to her role in the Georgia Department of Education, she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning in the Decatur County School System in Bainbridge, Georgia, where she resides with her husband, Dr. Aric Aldridge—a Mercer University School of Medicine graduate—and sons Austin and Ashton.

Dr. Aldridge is a 1996 graduate of Mercer University, where she completed undergraduate majors in Early Childhood Education and Spanish. She holds both a master’s degree and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University, and she earned her doctorate from The University of Alabama in Birmingham in Educational Leadership with a Curriculum focus. Dr. Aldridge recently served as the President of the Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instruction Supervisors and remains active within the Mercer community, serving as President-Elect of the Tift College Alumni Association and as a member of the National Alumni Board of Directors.
