Dr. Hames has taught in Fulton, Fayette, and Henry Counties, teaching mostly middle grades math and social studies. She retired in 2012 and began doing some adjunct teaching and serving as the Teacher Leader Coach for Mercer's Teacher Leadership Program. She will be teaching in the MAT program and in the Teacher Leadership Program at Mercer.


Dr. Hames teaches Curriculum and Instruction classes for Middle Grade and Secondary as well as Teacher Leadership courses. She serves as the Program Coordinator of the Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership Program and serves as the Teacher Leader Coach for the program. She also teaches the coaching classes which lead to a coaching endorsement within the teacher leadership program.


Dr. Hames is interested in teacher leadership,
coaching, and curriculum. Her current research interest is studying principal perceptions of the role of instructional coaches.


Dr. Hames serves as the program coordinator for the teacher leadership program. She is involved with the Georgia Teacher Leadership Virtual Learning Community as well.
