Educational Leadership (P-12 Tier I) Non-Degree Certification

Earn your tier I certification

Mercer University’s P-12 Tier I Educational Leadership certification-only program prepares transformational leaders outside of the classroom. Mercer offers this non-degree, certification-only option to prepare students for Tier I Educational Leadership Certification (Level 5) eligibility in Georgia. Students develop further leadership skills and attain professional growth in the field of education.

To be eligible for the Tier I Educational Leadership certification program, applicants must hold a valid Level 5 educator certificate and have at least three years of experience in the school system. The number of courses required for the certification-only program are dependent upon a transcript review, which can be completed prior to the application process.

Designed for busy and working adults

Mercer’s Tier I Educational Leadership program is offered in a blended format at Mercer’s Atlanta, Henry County, and Macon locations. Classes meet during eight-week terms, and each course meets once per week online and once per month on campus on Saturdays. With this model, 50% of the course is conducted through a synchronous, online format, 25% through an in-person format, and 25% through an asynchronous, online format. Candidates will also devote time to clinical practice hours at their own school. Students are enrolled three times per year in January, May, and August.

Program requires a minimum enrollment for each location and start date to begin a cohort.
