Dr. Kelly Reffitt serves as University Vice Provost and is a Professor in the Tift College of Education. Previously she served as Associate Dean with the responsibilities of undergraduate programs, assessment, accreditation, field placement, certification, and school partnerships. Dr. Reffitt was instrumental in creating the College’s first professional development school partnership and later expanded Tift’s partnerships across the state.


Dr. Reffitt has taught courses in elementary literacy and assessment at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has also supervised teacher candidates in clinical experiences and mentored doctoral candidates on dissertation committees.


Her research interests include effective literacy strategies and school-university partnerships. Within the College, Dr. Reffitt helped faculty with their own scholarship by creating faculty seed grants and partnership grants.


In addition to serving on several college and university committees,  Dr. Reffitt has also provided consistent service to school systems, professional organizations, and governmental agencies, including the Georgia Association for Independent Colleges of Teacher Education and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
