Biography

Jan Johnson is assistant to the chair and an instructor at the Tift College of Education. She joined Mercer University permanently after her position as a visiting instructor from 2008-2009. Prior to joining Mercer, she was an elementary school teacher for 30 years.

Teaching

Mrs. Johnson serves as Assistant to the Chair/Instructor for undergraduate RAC students. She routinely conducts orientation for new students and advises all freshman and sophomore students. Additionally, she hosts the yearly SCOPE (Site Council on Professional Education)  meeting at the Henry RAC. She has also conducted training for adjunct instructors. She has taught classroom management, creative arts, and preparing the early childhood environment. As President of the Early Childhood Advisory Board at Southern Crescent Technical College, she frequently meets with students and advisors to discuss various programs and options for students.
