Add-On/Recertification

To be admitted to the Tift College of Education as an Add-On or Recertification student, consult the chart below. Students required to take a specific course(s) as outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission should follow guidelines for Add-On/Recertification students.

Students seeking the above are classified as non-degree students.

Requirements for Admission

1. Teaching certificate.
2. Copy of a letter from PSC or school system outlining the courses required for re-certification or for adding a field (if applicable).
3. Official copies of all transcripts.

Application Process

1. Apply for admission to Mercer University as a special student through the appropriate admissions office. 
2. Submit copy of teaching certificate and, if applicable, a copy of letter from PSC or school system to the Teacher Education Admissions Officer.

Admissions Procedure

1. Documents evaluated.
2. Letter of admission sent to student with advisor's name.
3. Registration
