The School Principal
The role and responsibilities of the School Principal are:
- to assist in the selection of competent Cooperating Teachers.
- to orient the Cooperating Teacher for the specific field experience, i.e., informing him/her of the student’s name and sharing information furnished by the University.
- to aid in the orientation of the candidate to the school, to the general operation of the school, and to the community in which the school is located.
- to make administrative provision for adequate conference time between the Cooperating Teacher and the candidate, participating in conferences when necessary or desirable.
- to provide the candidate with opportunities to participate in staff meetings, extracurricular activities, etc., when feasible.
- to model the behavior and standards of the teaching profession.
